Are frozen chips microwave safe?
We tested several brands of frozen fries for the microwave and came to the conclusion that they are not suitable for microwave cooking. The cooked fries had an unpleasant, soggy texture, lacking the crispy exterior that is essential for good fries.

However, we do sell our Quick Cook Microwave straight cut potato chips, and they are crispy even when cooked in the microwave. – Customer Service.
Alexia: We do not recommend putting our potato and onion products in the microwave. We have instructions for the fryer and oven (as printed on the product packaging).

There has to be a better way to make crispy fries in the microwave, right? After some surfing on the internet, we found a few creative solutions.
1. High cost option
If you’re a fan of microwaves or advanced appliances, consider a Breville Combi Wave 3-in-1 convection oven. It combines a deep fryer, a hot air oven and a microwave in one. This technology allows food to be cooked faster while maintaining a crispy crust. You can use this oven to prepare dishes such as roast chicken, lasagna, pastries, and of course, French fries.
2. Budgetary option
For a small price, you can get a Maconee Deluxe non-stick microwave pan. This allows you to reduce the cooking time of any dish by up to 70%! Before you make perfectly crispy fries, preheat the pan. Other favorites such as bacon, steak, pizza, tacos and chicken are also suitable for this oven.
3. Superbudget variant
If you’re on a tight budget (sorry for the pun), try buying microwave chips. There are several varieties on the market, so check the frozen food section of your local grocery store. There are also online shopping options if your local supermarket has a limited supply.

Alternative cooking methods
If you have no choice, you can use the microwave to make some sticky, soft fries. For best results, try one of the following methods.
Fried: Oven fries are easy to prepare and guarantee a crispy crust on the outside. The secret is a hot oven, so preheat to 230°C and bake in the middle of the oven for 15-20 minutes. For best results, it is recommended that you follow the instructions on the packaging.
If you don’t have an oven, skip this option. Those who have to resort to the microwave due to lack of time should opt for instant fries. All major brands now offer products that are cooked in just a few minutes. See what you can find where you live.
Toaster: It’s no secret that we love our toaster oven because it cooks faster and more efficiently. Although the cooking time is the same as in a traditional oven, the preheating is much faster. The results will be rewarding.
Fried: Whether you choose a frying pan or a deep fryer, this is our favorite way to cook for flavor. Transfer the cooked fries to a plate lined with kitchen paper to absorb some of the oil. French fries may not be the healthiest option, but they taste great.
